WiloSe acquires 100% of the shares of Abionik Group a portfolio company of Bid Equity
Munich, December 2020 – Kloepfel Corporate Finance GmbH (KCF) has exclusively advised the private equity company BID Equity as M&A advisor on the sale of the Berlin-based ABIONIK Group GmbH (ABIONIK) to Wilo SE (WILO). The closing took place at the beginning of February.
The successful acquisition of the internationally operating ABIONIK opens up new strategic opportunities for WILO in the water management segment. The merger complements the existing range of services and enables an expansion as a provider of intelligent solutions in the water and wastewater sector.
Both, the management of ABIONIK and the members of WILO’s Executive Board, are convinced that the two companies will complement each other excellently in the future and that the existing product portfolio can be successfully expanded. After the integration into the WILO Group, the competence as a solution provider for challenges in global climate change can be further expanded and the efficient use of water can be optimized.
With almost 200 employees in Europe, China and India, ABIONIK is one of the leading suppliers in the field of environmental technology. The group consists of Martin Systems GmbH, Likusta Umwelttechnik GmbH and Steinhardt GmbH, among others, and is able to offer target-oriented specialties for demanding customers worldwide. As a provider of services and products along the entire water and air treatment value chain, the Group has been very well established in the international market for decades and is characterized by sustainable growth.
Both Daniel Crawford, CEO of ABIONIK, and Matthias Weyers, member of the Executive Board and CFO of the Wilo Group, are confident about the future and look forward to cooperate and continue delivering value-added solutions to their customers.
KCF exclusively supported BID Equity as M&A advisor and was able to structure, co-negotiate and contribute to the successful closing of the sale process of ABIONIK within a limited M&A process. Besides Dr. Heiko Frank, Ms. Laura Schläger was responsible for the management of the project.
